2010 Emmy Awards
The 2010th edition of Emmy Awards is going to take place on Sunday night in Los Angeles as the annual tribute that television world gives to itself. Well, the new thing regarding this show it that for the first time it is going to be transmitted live in all the United States zones. But, a completely live transmitted three hours glamorous show means a whole new type of arrangements and much more work, and so the preparations for the final event are still one and they will continue till the last moment. But, most people are definitely more curious about who will win. Holland Taylor and Jane Lynch are nominated to the best supporting actress in a comedy series for their parts in “Two and a Half Men” and “Glee”. This category is probably the one on which people are very curious but, who will be receiving the award is something unsure till the Sunday night show.
Holland Taylor, Charlie Sheen‘s mother in the famous TV serial, is actually a supporter or a fan of her rival for the title. “If Jane Lynch doesn’t take this award, the world will tilt on its axis,” she said according to the Associated Press. “We’ve never seen a character like that before,” the actress added. And although she got to he nominated four times for her part in “Two and a Half Men”, Taylor hadn’t won an award. Will this year be her turn?
This summer was however, full of uncertainty for Taylor and the whole cast of “Two and A Half Men” because no one knew for sure what will happen to Charlie Sheen and there is no show without him. Because of his problems and personal issues and the ones regarding the ending of his contact made a lot of people, including the cast members, thing that maybe the show will be canceled despite the huge ratings. But, finally things turned for the best for the whole team and mostly for the main actor of the show, Charlie Sheen, who became the best paid TV actor by receiving more than $1 million per episode.
Of course none of the other actors make that much, and Taylor doesn’t either, but she is very satisfied with the show and her work there. “I just thought, ‘Wow! Are you prepared for what you are marching resolutely towards, without even thinking about it?’ And the answer was, ‘No! Hell, no!’ I’m not remotely prepared for what this is going towards the big dirt nap,” Taylor said. Maybe she will be also awarded this year for it.
Well, of course Holland Taylor and Jane Lynch are not the only ones that wait for the show to take place and hope for an award. And there are some famous people expected there such as Claire Danes, Ted Danson and Tom Selleck. Mariska Hargitay is probably also hoping to get an award, being nominated this year for her role as a lead actress in a drama. But, who will be the winners and which is the best television serial?11
