Apple sold 1.7 million iPhones4 in three days
U.S. computer group Apple announced Monday that the first three days of selling debut its new mobile phone iPhone in April, has sold 1.7 million copies, Reuters.April iPhone made its debut last Thursday in stores U.S., UK, Japan, France and Germany. By the end of June, the phone would be available in 18 other states, including Australia, Canada, Italy, Spain and Switzerland and by the end of September in 88 countries.
Compared to the previous phone model launch, iPhone 3GS, Apple sold one million units in first weekend.
Success of the iPhone was expected considering that since before Apple product on the market or only operator in the U.S. market recorded 600,000 pre-orders in one day.
Analysts expect the new model to help Apple sell 36 million iPhones in the fiscal year ending in September, up to 73 percent over the previous next fiscal year.11
