Arnold Schwarzenegger And Wife Separate
Now, here is shocking news. Arnold Schwarzenegger and his wife Maria Shriver announced the fact that they are separating after 25 years of marriage.
“After a great deal of thought, reflection, discussion and prayer, we came to this decision,” an official statement released by the couple said. “This has been as time of great personal and professional transition for each of us,” it continued. However, despite the split, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver plan on remaining close, so they will still be friends as the marriage ended in an amicable way. However, the former couple will also remain committed parents to their four children. But, no other details regarding the separation were released at this point.
“At this time, we are living apart while we work on the future of our relationship,” the statement issued by a rep for the couple concluded, so it seems that things have really ended for Arnold Schwarzenegger and his wife Maria Shriver, despite the fact that they have been married for 25 years now. Maria has already moved out of the couple’s home. But, at least there was one thing that the couple wanted to set straight. They claimed they will remain committed parents to their four children. “They are the light and the center of both of our lives,” they said. However, in their statement the former couple also asked for privacy and said that this is a personal matter and it should remain this way, so no other comments or details will be released by the couple, their friends or family.
Initially, rumors on this marriage having problems broke in 2003, when the 63 year old actor was still running for governor of California. However, the reports turned out to be untrue and Maria remained besides her husband, supporting him during the campaign. The two announced their separation on Monday night, when they released the official statement. The separation came about four months after Arnold Schwarzenegger ended his governor term. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver first met in 1977 at a charity tennis tournament. The couple wed in 1986 and they have four children, ages 14, 18, 20 and 21. Still, in their official statement announcing the split, the two made no mentions regarding their future plans, so it is yet unknown if they plan to file for divorce or not.11
