In fact, for her role in this movie, Natalie Portman received an Oscar in Best Actress category. The star was also highly appreciated for her performance as Nina Sayers in the movie, Natalie claiming in earlier interviews that she prepared for months before starting filming this movie. But, the star who is going to be mom for the first time, managed to create a new controversy linked to her movie and role.

Well, it looks like the issue is linked to the fact that not all the scenes from the movie were played by Natalie herself, as the actress had a dancing double, whose name is Sarah Lane. However, the criticism on this element only occurred now, as the existence of the double was kept secretly, until Natalie received her Oscar for the role in the movie, reports claimed. And not only that this aspect has been avoided and not made public, but according to Sarah Lane, she was actually banned by the movie producers to talk about it. In an interview with Dance Magazine, Sarah said that she was asked to stay quite until after the Oscars, thing she did.

“They were trying to create this facade that she had become a ballerina in a year and a half. So I knew they didn’t want to publicize anything about me,” she said. And Sarah added that the only thing that really bothered her was the fact that people actually believed that you can become a professional ballerina in less than a year, when it takes such hard work and long time to reach a certain level that was claimed Natalie Portman did after preparing for a year before starting the project.

But, if Natalie Portman or the “Black Swan” producers made no comments on these statements and the whole scandal created linked to them, it seems that Benjamin Millepied, Natalie’s fiancé, decided to defend his future wife and the mother of his child. The couple actually met while working at the movie, and now they are engaged and they are also going to have a baby together. In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, Benjamin Millepied claimed that the double was actually part of the movie, but the scenes she did were just a few, including only the most difficult elements, while most of the work was done by the actress herself. “Honestly, 85 percent of that movie is Natalie,” he said.

But, Benjamin Millepied also went to explain that the reason why Natalie managed to learn and get prepared for her performance in the movie in less than a year is actually given by the fact that they opted for simple elements, “by making things fluid and not too complicated.” So, it seems that what Benjamin wanted to share is the fact that the controversy created has no grounds and although Natalie had a professional dancer as her double for the most difficult scenes in the movie, most of the dances routines were actually made by her and things have only been exaggerated.
