The Thai government has recently discovered that wearing black leggings is bad for your health. The thing is that it triggers young teenagers to catch some potential deadly mosquito – borne illness.
According to the Deputy Public Health Minister Phansiri Kulanartsiri, the mosquitoes that exits there are known as attracting darker colors. “The mosquitoes can bite through the leggings’ thin fabric, so those who wear them are at greater risk of being infected with dengue.”
The dengue fever is an acute febrile disease that can usually occur in the tropics and it is life threatening. It is a fever that can be very painful and that is why it is known as breakbone fever. Dengue is just as prevalent in the urban districts as it is in the rural ones.
According to the World Health Organization, around 2.5 billion people are in danger of taking this fever and is estimated that around 50 million cases of infection will be met worldwide every year. It is now an existent disease in more than 100 countries.
In Thailand it is on the rise and this year it is estimated that there were more than 43 deaths and more than 43,000 infections in the first part of the year11
