BP seeks new solution for the Gulf situation
The new cap installed by BP is keeping oil from spilling into the Gulf of Mexico waters for the fifth day now and the company started talking about a new solution that could end the leak for good.
The new solution would be BP’s 11th attempt to put an end to the leak and this time engineers intend to use gigantic pumps to pour mud into the well. BP is waiting for the Coast Guard to give the approval for the project in order to start implementation next week. The plan is that 200,000 gallons of a cocktail of mud and cement will be slowly pumped in. the method is similar to the one used in May, but this time it may prove to be successful because that cap has already stopped the powerful flood of oil that was leaking into the water.

When the oil was flowing so quickly it carried along with it the mud before it could pile up on the bottom of the well. In the same time, workers continue the job on the relief wells that could also offer a proper solution. All of this is possible due to the cap that is sealing the leaks. There still are five very small leaks around the blow out preventer in the form of gas bubbles, from the places where there are metal on metal seals, but BP declares that there is no need to worry about them.
