Brown Extends Lakers Contract
After turning down plenty of lucrative offers, Shannon Brown returns to Lakers, according to player’s agent Mark Bartelstein. He also said Brown will sing a two-year extension at his current contract, deal which worth more than four and a half million dollars. Bartelstein said: “He’s been there two years, and they’ve won two championships. There’s very few times you have a chance to go for a threepeat. When you have that opportunity, he couldn’t pass it up.” Brown joined LA Lakers in 2009 and quickly became Kobe Bryant’s backup throughout the previous NBA season to the delight of the fans who didn’t need too much in order to become their favorite, especially thanks to his slam dunks shows.
Brown’s averaged career resumes 8.1 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists last season, his defending being also a very solid one. The player has already denied offers coming from big names like New York, Cleveland and New Orleans, preferring to be part of Lakers at least for two years from now. Furthermore, Brown’s agent also said the player enjoys everything is happening to him in Los Angeles: “He loves everything that’s happened for him in L.A. He had more lucrative offers out there for sure, but he wanted to keep going with the Lakers. Apart from Brown’s extension, the team signed this summer Steve Blake, Matt Barnes and Theo Ratliff who are about to consolidate at least the bench which barely includes consistent help, naming here Lamar Odom and Brown.

LA Lakers honors include 17 championships, 31 conference titles and 32 division titles. The club also retired throughout the time seven player numbers, namely 13, 22, 25, 32, 33, 42 and 44. Shannon Brown started his senior career at Cleveland Cavaliers in 2006, then he Albuquerque Thunderbirds in 2007, and played for all the three Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Chicago Bulls and Charlotte Bobcats in 2008. He signed the Lakers last year and will go on for another two years.
