Button Impresses In Hungary

Button wins second season title
Jenson Button has won his second title of the season after coming first at the Hungarian Grand Prix, setting a one hour 46 minute and 42,337 second time. World champion Sebastian Vettel, who had set the pole position in the qualifying round, came second, while former world champion Fernando Alonso third.
The German failed to take advantage of the pole position, coming 3,588 seconds behind the leader, while Alonso set a big 19,819 second gap. Lewis Hamilton, who had shined in the first free practices, came fourth, 48,338 seconds slower than his team-mate, being followed by Mark Webber, who came just one second behind him. Felipe Massa was the first to set an over a minute gap, while six other drivers, including Buemi of Toro Rosso, Mercedes Nico Rosberg and Kamui Kobayashi finished just 69 out of 70 laps.
Rubens Barrichello, Adrian Sutil as well as penalized Sergio Perez and Maldonado of Williams spent 68 laps on the track, while Timo Glock of Virgin and Hispania’s Ricciardo were four laps behind the leader. Finally, Virgin’s d’Ambrosio and Liuzzi of Hispania finished 65 laps, the race providing at the same time four abandons, that of Heikki Kovalainen of Lotus, former world number one Michael Schumacher, Renault’s Nick Heidfeld and Trulli of Lotus.
Said Button, who also won this term’s Canadian Grand Prix: “I’m always pretty lucky in these conditions.” Fernando Alonso looked though confident with the rest of the season which he expects to be a better than the first half. “The second part of the championship should be good for us. Spa, with medium- and high-speed corners, should suit the team, and then Monza is our home race.”
Button is fifth in the Formula One standings, having won 134 this season, 11 less than Fernando Alonso. Vettel stays top though with 234 points, while his team-mate Webber follows him with 149. Lewis Hamilton is just three points behind the Aussie. Felipe Massa remains sixth with 70 points, being followed by Nico Rosberg with 48, Nick Hiedfeld with 34, Vitaly Petrov with 32 and Micahel Schumacher with the same number of points as the Russian.
Kamui Kobayashi is 11th with27 points, while Adrian Sutil and Sebastian Buemi follows him with 18 and 12 points respectively. Finally, Jaime Alguersuari is 14th with ten points, Paul di Resta and Sergio Perez with eight, each, while Rubens Barrichello with four.
Concerning the team table, Red Bull remain top spot with 383 points, being followed by McLaren Mercedes with 280 and Ferrari with 215. Mercedes are fourth with 80 points, while Renault is fifth with 66. Finally, Sauber are sixth with 35 points, Force India with 26, Toro Rosso with 22 and Williams with four. Three teams have not won any point so far this season, including Lotus, Hispania and Virgin.
Next up is Belgian Grand Prix which is scheduled to take place between August 26 and 28, being followed by the Italian one on September 11.
