Ancelotti, who signed a three-year deal with the Blues back in 2009, led the West-Londoners to two domestic successes, including the 2009-2010 Premier League title and the FA Cup, achievement that no other coach had managed to set at the Bridge within one year. The club added at the same time that the reason for which the manager was fired is the poor performance. “Carlo will always be welcome at Stamford Bridge, where he will be given the reception and respect his position in our history deserves,” the statement added. On the other side, Ancelotti’s last words were: “I have to say thanks to every one of my players because more or less they do their best every time, they were in focus.” He, too, refused to reveal his future plans, claiming that he does not care whether he’ll be training smaller teams or big ones.

Ancelotti started his manager career at Reggiana and joined Parma in 1996. Three years later, he moved to Juventus with whom he won the 1999 Intertoto Cup.
