Child Abuse Prevention Month

April is child abuse prevention month (alwayschasingjustice.wordpress.com)
The Tippecanoe County courthouse was covered in blue pinwheels and blue ribbons last week, signifying the number of babies that have been abused or neglected in the past years.
It seems that there are more and more failures when it comes to putting an end to child abuse. For that, people in Tippecanoe County decorated their courthouse with blue ribbons and pinwheel, suggesting the amount of children who have died after being abused or neglected. The situation has worsened in the past years and, for instance, in Tippecanoe County last year only saw more than 600 children in court as victims of abuse and neglect. Furthermore, the thing deepens, as there are probably hundreds if not thousands of children who are abused, but they are not reported to officials.
Hundred of thousands of babies are being abused or neglected in the United States of American and also around the whole world, and the National Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention month is expected to draw some alarm signal to parents who simply end up not caring about their babies too much. In what concerns the numbers of babies abused in Tippecanoe, this year has seen large number of abuses on victims who were not even born yet.
Of course, having a baby can get hard at times. Hard and loud and nasty, but if you decide to have a baby, you should better get rid of all your frustrations and start looking out for your little bundle of joy. Yes, there’s the postpartum depression that mothers and fathers have to go through. But there are friends and grandparents who could help you. You only have to ask for a little hand when you feel like you cannot take it any longer. The world we are living in does not have only patient, loving parents and babies are not all quiet and they do not stand still when you are telling them to do so. That would be an ideal world. But the world in which we are all living is not an ideal one, there are problems, there are cares and there’s always something to be complaining about.
Parents should be more attentive when it comes to their children. Spankings have been reported so many times that officials have even stopped acting when such a thing happens. Well, these are the causes that lead to child abuse, in the end. As said before, when you feel like you cannot take it any longer, take a vacation. Ask friends to support you or go to special centers that have people who can help you cope better with your life as a parent. Is it really worth ruining a life (or more!) only because you feel sick and tired at times? There are many volunteers and professionals out there who can help you improve your baby’s life and yours as well. You only have to come to an agreement with yourself and admit you have a problem. These people can make it all better.
Specialized centers are trying to expand, in order to help more and more people and thus, to put an end to the problem of child abuse. Given that there are so many cases of child abuse and neglect, people have started to panic over the issue and some of them have actually decided to do something about it. If you really want to prevent an atrocity, you should understand your limits as a parent and ask for help. Real intervention is when friends and family realize you cannot simply put up with things anymore and they offer to watch your child while you are taking a break.
Hopefully, when next April comes with the National Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention month, the Tippecanoe County courthouse will not see so many blue ribbons and pinwheels.11
