Chinese Minister Wen Jiabao delivered a speech on Monday at the Royal Society in London, called “The Path to China’s Future,” in which he outlined the principles that would guide his country into the century.


His speech is part of a three-nation tour the PM is taking to Europe in Hungary, UK and Germany.

He said that China would embrace a brighter future, one of economical advancement and prosperity for the people.

He mentioned that these two goals have always been the top priorities of the government of the People’s Republic of China.

Scientific development, hard work, and shift in the model of economic development are principles that would guide Chinese government.

Prime minister also spoke of practical provision that would be employed: expanding domestic demand, creating jobs, increasing efforts to improve public welfare, deepening reform of income distribution, developing social programs such health or education.

A very important allegation made by the Chinese PM is that “tomorrow’s China will be a country that achieves full democracy, the rule of law, fairness and justice.”

The China of tomorrow will be a more open, inclusive, and culturally advanced society, built upon advancing political reform and “build democracy under the rule of law.”

He added that China should not hesitate to learn from others, and create a better political environment and a freer academic environment.

The prime minister stressed out the fact that in order to face globalization and achieve modernization China needs to prosper in peace, by that expressing the general Chinese stance that the country’s weapons procurement is only meant to increase its defensive capacities.
