Christina Aguilera Arrested
When some celebrities party, they do it in a big way. It seems that this was the case for Christina Aguilera and her boyfriend.
Christina Aguilera and her boyfriend Matt Rutler were pulled over by the police near the Sunset Strip last night. The event took place at about 2:45 a.m., while the couple was driving in Christina’s latest Mustang. It seems that the reason why cops decided to pull over their vehicle was due the fact that they wanted to check if the driver was under the influence of alcohol, thing that actually was confirmed according to USA Today. A TMZ report said that the cops noticed Matt’s erratic driving and that was the moment when he got pulled over.
However, Matt was arrested for drunk driving, while Christina was taken into custody because of “public drunkenness.” But, according to many reports the fact that Christina Aguilera got arrested is kind of curious as the singer wasn’t the one driving. However, it seems that the standard procedure in a driving under the influence of alcohol arrest says that an arrest can be made when cops decide passengers are too drunk to take care of themselves. And it seems that this is exactly what happened in the case of the famous singer.
However, although Christina Aguilera was arrested, the star was released from custody early during the morning and it seems that she won’t be charged. “She was booked; she was fingerprinted; and she was put in a cell,” Steve Whitmore, the sheriff’s spokesman said. However, if Christina managed to get away with only a few hours spent in jail, we can not say the same thing about her boyfriend, who was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. His bail was set at $30,000, and now Matt has also been freed from jail.
So, both Christina Aguilera and Matthew Rutler were arrested Tuesday morning in Los Angeles. The couple was booked at a West Hollywood Sheriff’s station. “When she got out of the car, she couldn’t stand. We had to help her stand,” the police spokesman added also mentioning that at the time of the arrest Christina had no idea where she was. The statement added that one of the reasons why she was taken into custody was actually given by the attempt to protect her, as she did not know her own address, being completely intoxicated. So, it was all for her safety, with no intention to be charged or prosecuted, as she was so intoxicated that she wasn’t capable of taking care of herself. The couple was on their way home when the arrest occurred, after a night out. The police spokesman also mentioned that both Christina Aguilera and Matt Rutler were cooperative with the cops during the whole incident. And it seems that when Christina got better, she told the cops that she wants to leave, and of course her request was granted, as there was no reason for the star to be held in jail. Anyway, no official comments from the singer or her boyfriend were issued at this time.
But, there were some stars that wanted to talk about the event, and there is no surprise that Pink did so. The “Stupid Girls” singer tweeted about the arrest. “Out of Myself, Britney and Christina – didn’t everyone think I was gonna be the troublemaker?” Pink shared according to Aceshowbiz.com. Well, the fact that Pink is not a Christina Aguilera fan is not something new, so there is no shock that she posted this message.11
