Things are now final for Christina Aguilera and her husband Jordan Bratman and although rumors indicated that despite the separation the couple is still trying to make the marriage work, the 29 years old singer has filed for divorce.
Just days after announcing their separation, Christina Aguilera has filed for divorce, TMZ reported. The papers were filed in a Los Angeles court yesterday, October 14. Well, you can already imagine what reason the couple gave, the divorce papers citing “irreconcilable differences”. However, sources already told to different publications that there are some differences the couple experienced, but they still love each other very much. Sources told US Weekly that “they were more like friends than husband and wife.” Anyway, some rumors indicated that Christina attending the wild party organized for Nicole Richie was the reason of the breakup, other sources saying for TMZ that the singer has actually cheated on her husband.

Anyway, Christina is seeking joint custody of the couple’s child, Max, aged 2. Well, sources told People magazine that although the split is very painful for Christina, she intends to “keep up a brave face,” and to focus on her being a good mother for her only child. “She’s focusing on continuing to be a great mom,” a close friend told People. “She’s spending as much time as she can with Max.” “Max is her number one concern. She’s making a huge effort to continuing to be a good mom through this transition for him,” the friend added. “It’s hard,” the friend continued. “You’ve got to handle it with dignity. I don’t think they’ve figured out everything yet. They have a child together, so they’re trying to do what’s best.”

And the decision that Christina has taken, to spend more time with her child, was actually confirmed as the singer was seen out with Max in West Hollywood on Thursday. “Christina was in a cheerful mood and seemed to have a blast with her son Max,” an onlooker told People. “It was obvious that Christina was trying to have a fun outing and make things special for Max. Max looked very happy to be out with his mom.” But, although she had fun with her child, Christina is going through a hard time. Still, “Christina looked anything but sad and it’s hard to believe that she is going through a difficult breakup. She seemed very strong and just focused on keeping things normal for her adorable son.”11
