Cracks found on three Boeing 767 of American Airlines

Airline American Airlines has revealed cracks in the structure of attaching the reactor on the wings of three Boeing 767 aircraft, announced Tuesday the U.S. Civil Aviation (FAA), stating that the investigation continues.
American Airlines made a routine inspection of (its Boeing aircraft) 767 (…) when he discovered the structure of fixing cracks in three reactors (device type) 767, declared the FAA spokesman Les Dorr.

A spokesman for the American Airlines said that after cracks were detected in only two structures attachment, and not three, and that the FAA had notified two weeks ago.

He said that the parts were replaced and that those planes are in service again.

The spokesman said that American Airlines has completed the verification procedures of the 56 Boeing 767 airplanes of similar design. Other 17 767 devices in the fleet are designed differently and do not require such checks, he said.

Boeing has not said how many of the 900 767 type aircraft currently in use could have a breakdown of this item. “There is only a part” of that total, said a spokesman, Peter Conte.
