Now, all the “Friends” are back. Maybe none of them with the same success that the 1990s serial had, but it seems that all the actors have managed to make their comebacks in different projects, in television as Matthew Perry, Matt Le Banc and Country Cox, or in Hollywood productions, as Jennifer Aniston, or maybe in online shows, as Lisa Kudrow.
The only “Friend” left behind seemed to have been David Schwimmer. But not any longer because he will be releasing his last production “Trust”, movie that will be shown at the Toronto International Film Festival. “Trust” was inspired by the actor’s work with rape victims and it can be quite a success because it has a great story to tell.

“Trust” stars Clive Owen and Catherine Keener, the two actors interpreting two parents who pass through the worst period of their life as they find out that their daughter has been sexually harassed and assaulted by a man she met online and who gain her trust after developing a chat relationship. In reality there actually is a problem regarding young women or teenage girls who meet different men online and turn up being physically hurt by them. The movie presents the drama lived by this family and the fallout they experience starting with the day when Annie, their daughter meets her aggressor.

Well, actually this is not the first project made by Schwimmer, because he made his debut as a movie producer in 2007 with “Run Fatboy Run”. However, Schwimmer is very pleased with this last production. “I’ve never seen in film the portrayal of the father and daughter, that relationship, that has to survive this kind of trauma,” he said in a Reuters interview. He also mentioned that he got the inspiration for this movie while volunteering for the Rape Foundation in Santa Monica, California, a place where the victims of sexual abuse can find help. However, the movie is very complex and it took about seven years for the project to be finalized.

“There was kind of a gap in creating awareness for men. So (the Rape Foundation director) thought that I, as a relatively young man at the time, and with some celebrity, that I can maybe get more men aware of the issue,” David Schwimmer, who started working with the organization while still being in “Friends”, said.

The 43 years old actor found the movie theme when a father expressed his feelings within the organization after his daughter was abused by an Internet predator. Schwimmer said that the story was so powerful that it just had to be told and that is exactly what he did. “I was just so struck by this obviously educated, well-informed, healthy, present-parent situation. I was just amazed that in spite of all that, it still happened to them, their teenager,” David Schwimmer said.

Well, the story is definitely impressive and Schwimmer has in the production some good actors, se we have no reason to think that the movie won’t be a success. Why is not Schwimmer himself playing in the movie? Well, the actor confessed that he thought to cast himself as the predator, but than decided for Chris Henry Coffey. He wanted to focus all his efforts in directing the movie. “I was intrigued by the idea but ultimately I thought it would be distracting,” Schwimmer said. Well, he also added that in the next movie he will probably play a small role because now he gained experience and knows what he has to do. Well, will you go to see “Trust” once it will be released in theaters, starting with September 11?11
