Eleven Students Killed in a Shooting in Rio de Janeiro

School Shootout in Brazil (world-news-post.blogspot.com)
Al least 11 died and 15 were wounded on Thursday in Realengo, in the poor suburbs of Rio de Janeiro, as an armed person attacked Tasso da Silveira school, where 400 students 9-14 ages were in classes.
13 people were reported dead by the police at first but then the Health Ministry of the state of Rio de Janeiro lowered the death toll.
Among the dead, police says was the assailant himself, a 24-year-old former student of the school, who died after shooting himself in the head. The police said that the murderer left behind a note in which he expressed his intention to commit suicide after the shooting.

According to the police colonel Djalma Beltrami the killer used two handguns and much ammunition.
He seemed, from his letter, to be a person that did not care for anything anymore, sick and tired in his own words of all the sentences and references to Islamic fundamentalism.
He entered the school, spoke nicely to the people in charge there and told them he wanted to address the children. Then, as he arrived to the third floor of the building he entered a class and started shooting students, killing nine girls and one boy.
A student got out of the building, announced the police and one policeman came, and was running after the shooter when he decided to end his life.
Police think that if the police officer had not arrived he had enough ammunition to continue his killing and probably would have done it.
President of Brazil, Delma Rousseff said she was in shock over the news about this tragedy, which is no doubt one of the most terrible of the sort in the history of the country.
