It is widely known that Michelle Obama is struggling with the fact of fighting against childhood obesity. A key part in this entire story represents pizzas and hamburgers. Michelle Obama, the first lady in the State these days, thought that pizzas and hamburgers that are under the child’s nutritional program are more able to trigger good consequences than those interdicting them.

What is this all about? Apart from introducing healthy food in schools and a more variety of food to choose from, the $ 4.5 billion legislation that was passed by vote, as well regards the low income people that do not have much money to buy food and they introduced reduced cost meals.

Despite of the fact that this legislation lasts since the early March, just now it gained the attention of President Barak Obama. First lady Michelle Obama praised the bill shortly after it was passed, calling it a “groundbreaking piece of legislation that will help us provide healthier school meals to children across America” that “will play an integral role in our efforts to combat childhood obesity.”

Anyhow, this does not mean that food like pizza will be taken out from schools, but they will be made healthier. They will use whole grain wheat crust, low fat mozzarella, and pay more attention to caloric sodas.

Despite of the fact that none has thought of this before, no nutritional company, these new legislation has support from many big companies, such as the nations largest chains of food and beverages. Anyhow, this has triggered to be more difficult for the companies that deal with junk food to deal with putting this food into schools.

For the moment, this is not a voted thing as the proper food that should be introduced and used is to be decided by the Agricultural Department. From part of this deal was to change the way the legislation was to be paid. The committee bill paid for the legislation by reducing conservation subsidies that was given to farmers for using environmental friendly farming practices, the Senate’s passed bill took around $2.2 billion from the food funding stamp program. This happened, as a consequence of the objections that some farm state senators had to using the subsidy money.

“If the only way they can pay for anything is to cut food stamp benefits, then the nation is in worse shape than we thought,” Jim Weill, president of the Food Research and Action Center, said after the vote Thursday.

The money is far better used in this sense rather than using them for paying jobs. Child nutrition is an important thing in today’s America.
