European Dream for American Bradley Might Become True
US coach Bob Bradley has claimed once again he aims to train in Europe, his dream being about to become true as Aston Villa Martin O’Neil resigned the Birmingham team these days. The American manager has been already linked by Villa, but things didn’t reach any certainty yet. Bradley even declared this day that, taking account his contract with the US Federation ends this December, he won’t refuse a Premier League deal with any of the teams. “I have said over and over as well that I am always excited about new and different challenges. Certainly coaching in Europe at some point is something that I would love to do,” he said.
“At the same time, I also consider it a challenge when you finish one (World Cup) cycle and begin the process of working on another one. From the time one World Cup ends, you begin to go through the process of assessing where you are.” However, the US coach has also been linked by Fulham right after the world cup, but the Londoners opt finally for Manchester City ex-manager Mark Hughes as Roy Hodgson left the club to join Liverpool. “From the end of the World Cup, I have said the same thing: There would be a period when both sides would assess. I think that’s normal. I had a few discussions with US Soccer. This fixture date comes at a tricky time and so we agreed it was most important to get on and prepare for this date and then we would have some discussions following this game. That’s where it stands. Other than that, there is different kinds of speculation on different days, so there is not much to be said until some more discussions take place.”

Bradley made the US team to shine bright at least in the group C matches, where the team finished top of the group with 5 points, same as England, but better goal-advantage. Unfortunately, the Americans failed in passing Ghana who stopped Bradley’s side progress in South Africa by beating the US with 2-1 to produce the surprise. The team produced one win against Algeria and two draws against England and Slovenia, but enough to reach the round of 16, scoring five goals and conceding the same the entire tournament.
