Exporting “Camelicious” Brand from Dubai
Not many people know this, but camel milk in Dubai is something most normal. While this Camelicious brand is already known in United Arab Emirates it intends to pass the frontiers and to be received in the 27 – nation bloc countries. The European Union is at the moment making the necessary tests to see whether the camel milk that they are trying to make a business of, in Europe as well, is good enough to hit the shelves next year.
For the moment the only part of the world that they have taken into account is Europe, but they are to be focusing their way in the Americas and Asia as well, at some point in the future. “We know this isn’t what you’d call a mainstream product in the West,” said David Wernery, legal adviser for the Camelicious brand, whose parent company goes by the more staid name of Emirates Industry for Camel Milk & Products. “We’re thinking about health food stores and alternative markets. It’s probably going to be a niche thing at first.”
The camel milk has three times more vitamin C than the cow milk and is considered to be the best alternative for the lactose intolerant. Researches have been made and are still in the process, to see whether the camel milk can help fight bacteria, tumors or diabetes. It is as well experimented to see if it has certain effect on treating the liver disease.
