Google employs over 2,000 people worldwide following the expansion of the Group’s activity into new markets, according to international media. Google currently has 2076 vacancies, this number being 6 times higher than in 2009. The job offers that Google posted varies from University Program Specialist in Senegal, to software engineer at its headquarters in Mountain View, California.

The number of Google employees at the end of September exceeded 23,000 people, a number higher by 18% compared to earlier this year. Earlier this month, Google announced it will offer all employees a 10% rise and a bonus of $ 1,000 from early next year. Also recently, Google announced its official presence in Romania by opening a business office in Bucharest, which is coordinated by a local team headed by Dan Bulucea. Google’s local office currently has an opening for the position of Product Marketing Manager, according to the company’s website.

Google has offered 3.5 million dollars if an engineer refused the offer of Facebook

Google offers an engineer currently working in the Group’s team and “courted” by Facebook, 3.5 million dollars in restricted stock in order for the engineer in question not to leave the company, which, according to TechCrunch.com, was a successful move.

In early September, the international press wrote about the strong efforts that Google undertakes to stop its employees, especially engineers, to resign to join teams of companies like LinkedIn, Twitter and moreover, Facebook. Then one of Google engineers who earn about $ 150,000 annually has declined a salary increase of 15% and restricted shares worth $ 500,000 for an initial offer for Facebook.

Another measure implemented in the same way Google and announced several days ago is 10% wage increase for all 23,000 employees. Raise, which will be given to both managers and employees of others around the world, will be operated in January 2011. The decision comes amid increasingly strong competitors’ battle hunting for talented employees of the company. Approximately 10% of employees are veterans up to Google. And other Silicon Valley companies aggressively try to attract Google employees.11
