When you say elegance in a woman’s outfit you definitely say high heels. High heels are always fashionable and this thing will probably never chance. The highest heels ever crated, with a dimension of 12.2 inches, were presented in May, this year, by a Romanian designer, Mihai Albu, shoes that celebrities, such as Victoria Beckham just felt in love with. Victoria is definitely considered to be a fashion icon and many women around the globe admire her. So, if she likes and wears shoes that are higher than 12 inches, many other women will also use them.
However, researchers showed that high heels can cause health problems such as back pain, knee problems or foot related diseases. Nothing new about the fact that high heels have negative effects on your health. Joints muscles and bone structure have to suffer every time you decide to wear these shoes that are not very comfortable after all, even if they are elegant and fashionable. However, many women choose to wear heels every day. The question that researchers bring under your consideration is what to choose between elegance and health.

One in three women wear heels at least once a week, and one study showed that three quarters of these women fell and were injured while wearing the most elegant types pf shoes. Researchers found a direct connection between wearing heels and the occurrence of knee osteoarthritis, a degenerative joint disease characterized by the deterioration of the cartilage that covers the knee. Flat heels aren’t safer, so, the study revealed also the fact that the dimension of the heels are not the most important thing, it is the position of the foot in the shoe that causes health problems.

Smaller or wider heels give the impression of stability when standing and they give you also the impression of comfort. For this reason, women wear high heels that are wider all day, but they are just as dangerous for your knees according to a study made recently.

High heels determine the change of the center of gravity and your body is pushed forward. For this reason you are forced to change your back position because of the lack of balance, putting pressure on the spine and on the back. Even if you have never thought about this, wearing heels can give you headaches. Because our body is a system that can feel the negative effects in chain, the pressure putted on you because of the wear of heels is transmitted from the back, through nerves, to the neck. The result takes the form of frequent migraines.

Using very often shoes of this type will determine some certain parts of your body to be overburdened. However this doesn’t mean that you have to eliminate completely high heels. The only advice researchers give is to not wear them very often, and mostly not every day, especially when you have to walk a lot. If wearing high heels is a must or a job require, researchers advice you to wear shoes that are not higher than 1 inch, to choose the ones that do not put a big pressure on your toes and that you really feel comfortable using.11

I agree with what you said but what is a woman to do in this sort of situation. If you work as an assistant manager like I do, you know that it is mandatory for us to wear elegant suits and skirts and proper shows. High heels are not only a sign of trend and fashion, they are also a sign of elegance and business women have to wear them all time as well. It is sometimes very uncomfortable and your feet get tired if you have a job that requires you to stand up or walk a lot and there is not anything that we can do about it. You can’t just show up wearing anything because you would lose your elegant touch and your professional look.

I agree with Jackie. I keep flats in my office and wear them. When I must meet with my CEO, I put my heels on and present a professional image. Afterwards, I change back into my flats.
