Combining traditional elements with very modern style when it comes to house decoration is the latest trend. Strong traditional colors that can bring outdoors theme inside, bamboo leaves and wood is what describes best the interior of a hanok, which is the South Korean term used to name their houses, houses models that remained unchanged for centuries.
Every Korean house has a terrace called jang where vases with kitchen ingredients are placed as in a traditional habit. Carved wooden door and pagoda-style roof are elements that you will see at every hanok. The main colors that create the decor of a Koreen house are green and brown. Green is associated with the bamboo leaves, while brown comes form the wood decorations. Both colors are seen in Korean culture as natural, calming and with the ability to bring you closer to nature.

Well, traditional is not always the opposite of modern. Traditional Korean houses can be very modern when it comes to amenities and most of them really are. Moving to Seoul, in South Korea can be seen like a crazy idea. But, the truth is that this city is a modern, beautiful one, which is, at least worth to be visited once. However, those that have chosen to move here do not regret their decision. Seoul combines tradition with modern elements, that create a specific charm to the city.11
