House decorations: traditional Korean style
Every Korean house has a terrace called jang where vases with kitchen ingredients are placed as in a traditional habit. Carved wooden door and pagoda-style roof are elements that you will see at every hanok. The main colors that create the decor of a Koreen house are green and brown. Green is associated with the bamboo leaves, while brown comes form the wood decorations. Both colors are seen in Korean culture as natural, calming and with the ability to bring you closer to nature.
Well, traditional is not always the opposite of modern. Traditional Korean houses can be very modern when it comes to amenities and most of them really are. Moving to Seoul, in South Korea can be seen like a crazy idea. But, the truth is that this city is a modern, beautiful one, which is, at least worth to be visited once.
