How to Add the AdSense Code to Your Website
How do I add the AdSense code to my Website is a question that is always put by those who want to make a profit with their Website. The answer is very simple and all you have to do is to follow the steps as presented below.
Once you’ve generated the ad code by visiting the AdSense Setup tab and following the steps to choose an ad the type, format and colours, you should add the code into your Web pages. In the final step of setup, you’ll see the code in your AdSense code box. This is the code that you’ll cut and it will insert directly into your Web pages. Because every HTML editor is different and because only you know how you want to build your Web pages, we can not give exact instructions on copying the ad code on your pages, but we can provide you some tips:
* Make sure you insert the ad code into your source without any change. This is important because any change in the code can cause errors in your page (and is against the policies of the AdSense product)
* Copy the ad code between the labels ‘body’ of HTML
* If you use a WYSIWYG editor (such as FrontPage or Dreamweaver) is a good idea to insert the code in the display code (Code) or source (Source). Inserting the code in the Layout mode display (“Layout”) will often add HTML tags code and will generate errors.
* If your pages use frames, make sure you have inserted the code within the frame that contains the main content of the page. Google uses this content to target ads.

When finished, save the Web pages and upload them to your server. If you have questions about uploading files to your server, you are advised to contact your Web hosting company directly.
Google ads should appear on your pages immediately. Initially, the ads that appear may be public service ads (known as PSAs) and will not be targeted ads for your page. Google must use crawlers to see the content of your page to know what ads to send you – it may take up to several hours, but usually takes several minutes. Once the crawler has visited your page, you should see highly targeted ads for content.

Also, you may find useful HTML tips in the AdSense Help Forum. In this forum, the AdSense publishers publish their knowledge and experience, and you can ask questions and seek answers about ad implementation. AdSense code is generated from your publisher account. This is the code that you need to add it to your pages to display ads on those pages or a search box. Follow these steps to generate AdSense code:
1. Access your account at https: / / www.google.com / adsense
2. Go to AdSense Setup tab
3. Choose your product – AdSense for content to place ads on your site, AdSense for search to add a search box on the site.
4. Follow the guided setup to choose the format and colours. You can also select additional options that may apply to
your site, including channels and alternate ads. About channels we will discuss at the end of this article and in the future article.
5. Your code will be generated in the your AdSense code box under your selections
6. Copy and paste the code into the source code of the Web pages where you want to display Google ads or an AdSense search box.
7. If you have implemented the code correctly, Google ads or search box will appear immediately. Initially, the ads that appear may be public service ads for which you will not accrue income. However, targeted ads will begin to appear soon as Google’s crawlers have visited your page.

And now let’s see what are the channels we mentioned before and what can they do for you.
Channels allow you to see detailed reports about performance of specific pages and ad units. By assigning a channel to a combination of pages or ad units, you can track the performance of an ad which is the type of an horizontal panel from a banner or to compare your pages about motorcycles pages about cars. You can even create a channel to track each of your separate domains, to see where your clicks come from. While channels can be used to track performance and revenue, they will have no effect on your earnings or the ad targeting .
There are two types of channels to choose: URL channels and custom channels.
URL channels
Use URL Channels to track your performance without changing the ad code. By entering a URL, full or part, you can begin to track the performance of certain pages of your site. You can enter a top-level domain name to track all the pages within that domain or enter a partial URL to track all the pages under a particular directory. By entering a full URL will track the performance of that page. For more information, read our next article related to the creation of an URL channel.
URL channels are only available for AdSense for content pages. If you want to track your AdSense for search performance, use custom channels.

Custom Channels
Custom channels allow you to track the performance of ad units based on criteria you specify. If you insert an ad code specific for your pages on the channels used by yourself, you can watch a variety of measurements for a range of URLs. Use custom channels to track, for example, the performance of different ad formats, or to compare different subjects together in a page. To learn how to create and how to assign custom channels, read the next article. You can also turn any custom channel to a placement on which advertisers can choose to place their ads.
With up to 200 AdSense channels, plus 200 AdSense for search channels available for each publisher, you can use channels to tell you what to do to optimize your site’s performance. It is easy to add, disable or rename channels and customized reports are simple to generate.
