How to Go Green: Coffee/Tea
Coffee is a powerful resource of antioxidants and can help you fight many conditions, including heart conditions, tiredness, and it is even good for the brain. While, tea is also a treasure when it comes to antioxidants, while green tea or black tea contain also caffeine and have similar effects to coffee, plus they clean your stomach and detoxify your entire body.Tea is the world’s most consumed beverage after water, so with that much in stake, no wonder we are trying to do our best to keep that. The green and socially conscious options available create an ideal environment for consumer contemplation: choose local, organic, shade-grown, Fair Trade etc. to make your caffeine kick a lift for everyone involved.
Also, try to buy your “stashes” in ecological packages and stay away of big, heavy, metal boxes because though they will keep the fresh aroma for longer, they don’t serve any good to environment, being non bio-degradable. Oh, and by the way, did you know that 50% of the world’s coffee is grown by small family farmers, and not by big industries?
That should definetely be a plus when considering to buy from local stores or farms the basics you need.11
