The direct talks that are to begin between the Israeli and the Palestinians, are one of the most important international problems that the Obama administration has dealt with.

Obama will be in direct connection as with today, with both the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. The meetings will be held separately and they will therefore prepare for the direct contact between the two of them in a year time, since they last had a direct contact.

Despite of the fact that the parameters of the meeting that is to take place on Thursday are not defined yet, they know what they aim at and as the discussions will move further they will most certainly find ways to tackle and deal with the situation on the fur of the moment. Under any circumstance, the American Administration under Barak Obama as well as the US Secretary of States, Hillary Clinton will be well aware of what each part desires and will try to find the bound to make them get to an agreement.

After the meetings that are to take place today with the two parties separately, the President is to have a forehand dinner and invite them both, this night as well as Mrs. Hillary Clinton, will be present.

For the moment the administration’s position is known and it is not about to take any further steps or to increase its involvement. This, in case that they will be able to solve things out on their own. However, it is more than certain that the presidential involvement is the one that will account for making the deal possible.

Daniel Levy, the co-Director of the New American Foundation’s Middle East Task Force is certain that the agreement will be possible just under a C – section operation, so that they will be able to get out of the Israeli an “yes”. And this C – section is able to be made just by the president.

The Middle East Peace Senator, George Mitchell is certain of the fact that obama intends of getting to a conclusion with this situation and that he will do everything possible that this will have a positive outcome. “Please do not confuse personal engagement exclusively with public activities, because as you know, there’s a lot that a president does that isn’t in the public arena but that … represents very active participation,” said Mitchell.

The President will most surely get directly involved, as even to get in the region and to see what is happening, but this will happen just in the case that he seizes the fact and the desire of getting somewhere, on both parts. It is important that he sees just a mere interest and to see that there is actually a deal there, and he will be the one to be all over, this issue and try to solve it.

Despite of the attacks that the Hamas has made, the two, Abbas and Netanyahu are risking their governments so that they could get to a conclusion, for the sake of their people. The Obama team is well aware of the fact that negotiations must be well organized and must be kept an eye upon, but for the moment they are not willing of getting too involved. The time will let them know the best thing they should do and the best way to tackle with things.

Now, what is important is the final conclusion from the Thursdays’ meeting.
