Iranian scientist paid 5 million dollars to reveal Iran secrets

CIA published a report according to which Shahram Amiri, the Iranian nuclear scientist that claims to have been abducted by the United States Intelligence was in fact paid more than 5 million dollars to provide secret information on Iran‘s nuclear program.

The scientist returned to Iran on Thursday where he was welcomed as a hero after his disappearance, and declared that he was abducted by the United States government and then offered 50 million dollars to remain in America. The Washington Post published a report according to which Amiri worked for more then a year with the CIA and he was paid for the job out of a secret program that included more scientists that had information on Iran’s nuclear program. And then, the last week, he suddenly asked for permission to go home.

Amiri is not obligated to return the money, but he might have problems when trying to access them, because breaking the deal with the United States. The 5 million dollars payment proves that Amiri was not abducted and brought to America against his will, and the amount of money he was offers indicates that the information given by him was quite significant. The scientist declares that he was the subject of extreme mental and physical torture during his disappearance. He told the reporters that he has documents proving that he was not free during his stay in the United States and that he has always been under the control of armed agents.
