Is the cosmetics industry moving too fast on green packaging?
While the majority of the cosmetic brands would be inclined to answer to this question with a big “no”,
the problem is just a little bit more complex than seen on the surface.
Although industry remains far away from being considered equal to nature, many people are ensuring that the green packaging with which most firms are working, is actually being recycled after using it once. Yet, situations differ a lot from America to Europe, from country to country and even between districts or smaller areas, so that the situation becomes almost impossible to supervise as a whole.
Unfortunately, this is more like a deaf fight between the ones that care and the ones that only pretend to care, as examples are countless. For example, a fragnance bottle might have 100% recycable credentials, but if smaller components such as caps or the bottle itself are made from different materials that cannot be further removed, the recycling process becomes complicated to useless.
Therefore, the whole industry has to communicate amongst one another to provide satisfactory results for nature which is in desperate need of help.
