Jimmy Kimmel Is Being Sued

Jimmy Kimmel is being sued over a YouTube video aired in his show
Talk show host, Jimmy Kimmel, is being sued over a YouTube video, which has been used without permission. The lawsuit papers were filed yesterday, on Monday, in Brooklyn Supreme Court, the New York Post reported.
The video posted with the title “Flying Rabbi” shows Borough Park Hasid Dovid Sondik, who is of course the person suing Jimmy Kimmel. “See, now it makes sense, LeBron went to Miami to become Jewish,” Kimmel joked in the material. “Apparently, [Pinto is] a very high-paid consultant when it comes to business matters. One time, I actually consulted with the rabbi myself,” he added. Then the video continues showing Kimmel as if he was talking to Sondik, the television show host pretending to receive some advices from Sondik. “You know, it turned out he was right,” Kimmel jokes at the end of the material. The video was aired as a skit parodying the visit of NBA star LeBron James to a rabbi, seeking advice. Rabbi Yishayahu Yosef Pinto is known to often offer advice to stars.
Well, it seems that Sondik found the video very offending and filed a lawsuit against the television show host, who has just renewed his contract. Sondik’s lawyer claims that the video was never meat to be made public or shown in Kimmel’s show and in fact the host presented it with no permission on his show, which aired in August. Dovid Sondik claims he was never asked before the video was used and so he is accusing Kimmel of appropriation of likeness and violating YouTube’s service terms.
“It has caused me difficulty and pain,” Sondik said adding that now people think he is a joke or a comedian, having this way his image and reputation damaged. And now, with his lawsuit, Sondik is looking for unspecified damages. However, no comments were made from Jimmy Kimmel regarding this incident, actually being reported that his rep wasn’t aware of the lawsuit filed. A reaction from the star to these accusations is still to be released.11
