Jordan and Israel Hit by Rockets

Rockets were fired from Sinai, Egypt, a zone where Islamist militants were stationed in the past, the rockets hit the Jordan’s and Israel’s resorts at the Red Sea on Monday, four civilians were injured in the attack, said a Jordanian ministry source. The rockets hit a hotel in Aqaba injuring a civilian very bad. In Eilat there were no signs of casualties, declared the police. When the Jordanian ministry source was asked from where the rocket was coming he responded very quickly that it came from the west. The experts are trying to find out from where the Grad missile was fired.
“The Grad rocket landed in a public street near a major five star hotel and caused four injuries, with three persons lightly wounded and the other casualty in serious condition,” said the source.
A local man from the port city said that when he heard the loud blast sound ran quickly to that area and saw how three injured men were transported to the hospital. Curios people gather around forming a big crowd in front of a 5 stars hotel on the beach where the rocket landed.

“We saw the wreckage of a taxi which was burned and fragmented metal scattered around the area that was cordoned off by police,” Abdullah Yashin Rawashdehd a resident from Aqaba declared for Reuters.
Moshe Cohen the Commander of the police in Eilat said for the Israel Radio that the police force are still trying to find out for sure if the five explosions that happened in the morning are from the heavy rocket attack.
One rocket landed in Aqaba while other two landed in the water.
“It’s a little early to say, but it is reasonable to assume that it came from the southern area,” he declared talking about Egypt, Sinai, where Islamist militants had a history in violence attacks.
Until now no one claim responsibility for the attack upon Israel and Jordan.
On April 22 a rocket hit Aqaba and as the case now no casualties were registered. The rocket was lunched from outside Jordan. The Israeli press informed the population that a possible place from where a rocket could be fired would be Sinai.
Rockets were fired at US warships stationed in Aqaba in 2005, the rockets missed the target but managed to kill an Jordanian soldier on land. A group linked to Al Qaeda claimed the attack.
A Palestinian suicide bomber two years later managed to infiltrate through Sinai and bombed an Eilat bakery killing three civilians.
The only Arab countries to have a full peace agreement with Israel are Egypt and Jordan. The connections where broken apart in 2000 because of the repression of a Palestinian insurgence in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
