Lindsay Lohan To Be Charged
It seems that the reports released earlier this week turned out being true after all. Lindsay Lohan will face felony grand theft charges.
However, according to TMZ, the actress is going to plead not guilty and she really thinks she did nothing wrong, as a source told the celebrity site. “I honestly feel I did nothing wrong,” Lindsay Lohan said according to the friend, adding that “I’m pleading not guilty because I’m NOT!” However, the TMZ report released earlier this week also turned out being true, as it was claimed that the star will be charged with stealing the necklace, valued at $2,500.
It seems that the charges will be filed Wednesday and they regard felony grand theft. So, as we can see, it did not take a very long time for Lindsay to get into serious trouble after leaving rehab. The 24 years old “Mean Girls” star was released from Betty Ford Center on January 3, after a court ordered three months rehab stint. When the actress left the facility center she claimed to be ready to start a new life and stay out of troubles. Well, it seems that her plan did not last for long, as she faces felony grand theft charges after being accused of stealing a $2,500 necklace from a jewelry store last month.
However, Lindsay’s situation can get even more complicated as the actress currently is on probation. If it turns out that she actually is guilty, it means that Lindsay violated the terms of her supervised release and that will definitely bring some jail time for the young star, as the judge told her at her last court hearing. The probation is linked to her 2007 dunk driving arrest, when Lindsay’s problems with the law began. However, the actress claims she is not guilty this time and her lawyer made that clear in a statement released earlier this week. “We vehemently deny these allegations and, if charges are filed, we will fight them in court, not in the press,” the actress’s lawyer said.
But, the problem is that Lindsay was in the possession of the missing necklace and she was seen wearing it. The actress decided to return it only when she found that a search warrant was issued on her name and the cops were about to search into her home, reports claimed. It was also said that Lindsay Lohan sent her stylist with the necklace to the police and said that she just forgot to return it. The actress also claimed that she has no idea why the jewelry store has taken action against her, because she was allowed to borrow the jewelry.
But, besides her probation, this new case and the charges just brought against Lindsay, the actress is also under investigation for allegedly assaulting an employee at the Betty Ford Clinic, who claimed that the actress punched her after refusing to submit to an alcohol test. So, problems seem to never end for Lindsay Lohan. Well, if Lindsay violated her probation she can, and most probably, will face jail.11
