Liverpool Sack Hodgson

Liverpool fire Hodgson to name Kenny Dalglish as new coach
Roy Hodgson’s day has come. Liverpool fired the 63-year-old as result of the poor results and a 13-31 negative record that can be easily taken as a serious insult towards the club history, fans and board. The Reds are left a seven-win inheritance, sitting just four points above the relegation zone.
Liverpool is to replace Hodgson with club legend Kenny Dalglish. The 59-year-old Scot, who brought Liverpool two FA Cups and three league titles from 1985-1991, is set to train the Reds until the end of the season. Dalglish’s managerial honours include another Premier League title with Blackburn Rovers and a Scottish League Cup won with Celtic.
Said club chairman Tom Werner: “Kenny will bring considerable experience to the position and provide management and leadership for the rest of the season.” Dalglish will start his job with a pretty tough test: Liverpool will visit Manchester United on Sunday in the FA Cup.
Hodgson leaves Liverpool on good terms. Well, at least this is what everyone can deduce from his statement. “I thank those with whom I have built up a close working relationship at the club for their loyalty and support during very testing times, and finally of course to the Liverpool fans, your passion and dedication to the club will see Liverpool at the top of the game once more.”
Liverpool has been through a lot of changes over the last months. Rafa Benitez’s dismissal, Hodgson’s appointment and John Henry’s arrival are just few of these changes. Reds’ new owner wanted to thank the former coach for the efforts and the commitment showed throughout the first part of the season. We wish him all the best for the future,” Henry ended.
Liverpool follow two defeats in the last three games. Blackburn broke Reds’ hearts just when they started to hope for better days. Rovers beat Liverpool 3-1 three days ago, the result making Hodgson’s day come earlier than expected. Dalglish will make his new debut on January 12 against Blackpool.
