Maradona, the right man to command Argentina again
Maradona was chosen to continue his job at the national team, although he declared at the end of the World Cup tournament his chapter has come to an end. The Argentinean FA have already announced these days Maradona’s as they’ve decided the coach to continue his work. The 39-year-old legend has now to prove his capable to send Argentina on the top of the world, Maradona being also in charge with the next World Cup tournament qualification which will take place in Brazil. The AFA decision came after Argentina provided a shameful quarter final, their poor performance against Germany bringing a clear 4-0 humiliating defeat after a pretty good course until this phase of the tournament, defeat which inclined Maradona declare at that time he’ll leave probably the team: “I may leave tomorrow. We will see what happens. I haven’t thought about leaving. I have to check that with my family and the players and there are things I have to consider.”
One of Maradona’s friends also declared at that time the coach is devastated due to the humiliation: “He’s dealing with the blow in his own way. He’s always said he wanted to be the team’s coach for the rest of his life, but you always have to consider whether it makes sense.” Alberto Blanco backs Maradona saying he needs to stay at the team for proving his capable to win the World Cup even as a manager: „I wanted him to be champion again because he deserved it. I know he’s not the best coach but the team also needs courage and heart and mystique, and he offered that to his players.”

Argentina finished top of the group B with nine points from nine possible providing on their own kind of an humiliation due to the 4-1 victory against Korea Republic, which finished second on the same group with only four points. Maradona’s side beat Mexico in the round of 16 with a clear 3-1 after a controversial opening that came from Tevez. Finally, the quarter finals brought them into inferno as they’ve lost to Low’s team with 4-1 as the Argentineans left home down headed.11
