The Beaver, Mel Gibson’s latest film will have its premiere in March, in Texas, after having been supposed to be launched last year.

The movie was postponed due to Mel Gibson’s bad reputation lately and all of the scandals he was involved in 2010, after having verbally agressed his ex-girlfriend, Oksanka Grigorieva.

The director of The Beaver is Jodie Foster. Gibson’s part on the film is a difficult one, as he portrays a troubled man who choses to communicate to people through a hand puppet, as a beaver.
The screening of the film will take place at the South by Southwest festival, in Texas, starting March 11 and will be going on for 10 days. According to Mel Gibson’s publicist, it is still uncertain whether the actor will be able to attend the event.
It has been a year since the renown actor of Madmax has not been seen in a movie, since Edge of Darkness, the thriller launched last year in January.

Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster as a memorable couple, gambling in the western jungle, in the comedy The Maverick, 1994

It will not be the first time that actors – and both directors – Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster work together in a project. Maverick, 1994, brought them together for the first time, as a couple of equally skilled gamblers trying to make their luck in the wild west.

The actor and director was also supposed to be part of Hangover 2, in a cameo scene, until the plan was canceled, last October.
Gibson is currently still fighting for custody of his 14 month old daughter, Lucia, with his ex-partner, Oksanka Grigorieva.
