Michael Jackson Was The Best Dad, Paris Told Oprah

Michael Jackson died on 25 June 2009 after a prescription medications overdose
The so much expected interview with part of the Jackson’s family was finally aired on Oprah Winfrey show. The famous television host talked to the megastar’s children and also to both his parents, Katherine and Joe Jackson.
The interview, which was filmed at the Jackson’s home, was aired on Monday on The Oprah Winfrey Show and in fact this was the first time when Michael’s children spoke publicly about their father. Not all the Jackson’s family members agreed with them talking to the famous television host, Randy Jackson saying in an earlier interview that his brother would have never approved such an interview, but five on the Jackson’s family members set down with Oprah and talked about the late singer. Michael used to cover his children’s faces when in public because he wanted to protect them and this was a topic debated by Oprah and the three young kids.
Paris, aged 12, Prince Michael, who is the singer eldest child, aged 13, and Blanket, who is only 8 years old, said that Michael was a great dad. They also added that they never minded their father’s decision to cover up their faces when in public, and in fact, the idea was Debbie Rowe’s, the children’s biological mother, as Katherine Jackson said according to Us magazine. “When we did go out without our dad, other people wouldn’t recognize us,” Paris said, adding that Michael always tried to raise them without them knowing all about his fame and career, but as you can imagine, that was impossible.
But, the children, although still very young, know what career they want to follow. Paris wants to be an actress, while Prince Michael says he is going to be a movie producer. Blanket is still too young to have figured that out, but in such a family is hard to think that he will choose another path than the showbiz or entertainment industry.

Paris told Oprah that their dad, who died on 25 June 2009, being aged 50, was misunderstood and the girl also added that people have no idea what a good father he really was. “He was just a normal dad, except he was the best dad,” Paris concluded adding that he also was the best cook ever. And their appreciation for Michael is demonstrated by the decision to buy back Neverland, Michael Jackson’s famous ranch, where they were very happy, as they announced last month. However, to be able to buy it they need to turn 21 and enter in the possession of Michael’s estate.
Paris, Prince Michael and Blanket have been living with Katherine Jackson, the singer’s mother, since Michael’s death. Now they attend a regular school, except Blanket, although until their father’s death they were all educated at home. Michael Jackson always wanted to protect them and keep them away from the dark sides of fame, including criticism, attacks and paparazzi following them all the time and that was the main reason why he wanted them to cover up their faces while being in public, for them to have a normal life.

But, Oprah didn’t limit her interview to Michael’s children. She also talked with the singer’s mother and father. Katherine Jackson told Oprah that her son had an obsession with changing his looks and admitted that Michael turned to plastic surgery several times. She also said that Michael’s first plastic surgery was made because the singer didn’t want his skin condition, Vitiligo, to leave him “like a spotted cow.” However, Michael has been known so far to have had several medical interventions and also treatments for his sensitive skin, all bringing their contribution in lightening his skin color. But, the star tried to keep the details on this matter privately again. He just said in 1993 that he had only two cosmetic surgeries, thing very much debated that time and denied now by Katherine who said he had more than two cosmetic interventions, but he was just too embarrassed to admit it. “I hear that people get addicted to plastic surgery, and I think that’s what happened to him. I said, that’s enough,” Katherine continued.
Katherine also mentioned that she talked to Michael about his drug addiction and she told him that she didn’t want to hear that he took an overdose, because that would break her heart. Unfortunately, this is exactly what happened. However, the singer’s mom said that Michael denied it when being asked. Katherine told Oprah that the day when she found out about her son’s death was the “worst day of my life. My heart dropped.” But, Katherine is not accusing Dr. Murray of murder, because, as she said, she has no idea what really happened with Michael, but of course, she has her own hypothesis. Anyway, it still hurts, and the 80 years old woman told Oprah the pain will never be healed. She said that when it happened she was announced to go to the hospital and her husband called her and said someone was taken with the ambulance from Michael’s house and that person had the whole body covered up. She said she prayed all the way, but Michael was already dead, although no one told her.

Joe Jackson, Michael and Katherine Jackson
On the final part of the interview, Joe Jackson, Michael’s dad, admitted that he beat Michael and the couple’s other nine children while growing up. Although at first Joe tried to avoid saying it, he was pushed by Katherine, who told him that he should say how it really happened because “that’s the way black people raised their children. He used a strap.” But, Joe, 82, justified his acts by saying that he is not regretting anything because with those beatings he kept his children on the right path. Well, as you can see, the interview was full of revelation from the controversial life of the “King of Pop.”
And it seems that the controversy is not over yet. The singer’s album, which will hit stores on December 14, is contested by both fans and some of the Jackson’s family members. The newest singe from “Michael” album, “Breaking news,” is according to some family members a fake, meaning that it is not Michael singing on the track. According to a TMZ report, the megastar’s children, his mother and sister, La Toya, say that some of the vocals on the track and not actually Michael’s. However, it seems that the song passed some authenticity tests and there are witnesses who were in the studio when Michael recorded the single, Sony Records said.
Well, most reports say that the song seems weird, but it looks like Michael himself took some bizarre precautions with the recording process because he feared that they will be stolen or leaked before the songs came out and some actually claim that there are vocals on the song recorded by phone. Anyway, the album will be out in about a month.11
