Michael’s last parade
Michael Jackson’s body was finally taken to the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Los Angeles, the burial place of many celebrities of Hollywood. Michael’s family asked Dennis Tompkins, Michael Bush and Karen Faye, the people that has always taken care of the superstar’s clothes and make up for almost all his life to help them prepare la late celebrity for the final farewell. Make up artist Karen Faye is convinced that she guessed the way that Michael would have wanted to look and Dennis Tompkins, together with Michael Bush designed brand new clothes for him that carried elements from the King’s favorite outfits during his career as a pop star. The only thing missing from the final costume was the single white sequin glove, that was so familiar to Michael.
The three people were some of the few that really knew Michael, and all three of them declared that this was the biggest honor that they could have received. They have all worked together before with the megastar, but this was the moment that truly bonded them together. In an interview given afterwards for ABC the trio related Cynthia McFadden things and rumors about the star’s sexual orientation, about his alleged drug abuse and the plastic surgeries that he had done.
Apparently he was taking painkillers because of a surgery that did not have enough time to heal, back in 1993, when he was supposed to be on tour, so he took the drugs to be able to keep the shows and after that it became a really bad habit.11
