Miley Cyrus Spotted At The Superdome

Miley Cyrus spotted at the New Orleans Saints vs St. Louis Rams game on Sunday
As expected, the video with Miley Cyrus smoking Salvia has created many debates, which seem to have not ended. But, the teen star has to move on with her life and she has recently been spotted at the Superdome.
Many reports said that though her actions, Miley is trying to show the fact that she has grown up and she has to let go her Hannah Montana and Disney star image. The 18 years old actress and singer is definitely making some mistakes and she receives harsh criticism for them, but after all she is just a teenager. Well, her latest action to create headline was of course the one from Miley’s birthday party in which the teen star was filmed smoking a substance. Although it had been reported that what the young singer smoked wasn’t marijuana, but in fact, a legal substance, at least in California legal, named Salvia, the criticism continued regarding the actress and her behavior. But, why are Miley’s actions so important? Well, the reason seems to be quite simple. The star’s decision to use the substance about five days after turning 18, at a party she held near her home in Los Angeles, is mostly seen as a wrong message for her teen fans all over the world, who can and maybe will get influenced in taking similar decisions to the ones that Miley takes when it comes to such aspects. And although the substance is not banned in California, we can not say the same thing about other US states, the herb being known to have potentially dangerous effects and also unknown consequences, having hallucinogenic effects.
Miley Cyrus was videotaped smoking Salvia and the clip was obtained by TMZ. How did the material became public is yet unknown, but it was reported that it got stolen from Miley’s friend’s camera, on which the whole event was videotaped. Well, according to Monstersandcritics.com, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration website says about the substance that it has “hallucinogenic effects, there is a substantial risk of injury or death as a result of impaired judgment due to disruptions of sensory and cognitive functions.”
Well, Miley Cyrus’ first public appearance after this event took place on Sunday, December 12, when the star was spotted at the New Orleans Saints vs St. Louis Rams game. And reports indicated that Miley Cyrus did not seem very much affected by the smoking incident and the controversy created. The star is currently in New Orleans, working at her latest movie, the comedy “So Undercover.” The actress co-stars Kelly Osbourne in the new movie, the two playing private detectives going undercover as college students. However, if Miley doesn’t seem to be much affected, her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, apologized on behalf of his daughter, on his Twitter page.
However, Miley’s decision to smoke the legal plant may have some legal consequences. TMZ reported that a California State Assemblyman, who tried three years ago to have the plant banned, will take action again, saying that “Miley is a star and young kids are going to emulate her behavior.” And currently, although the use of Salvia is not banned in California, the herb can not be sold to minors, the law says. Well, now Anthony Adams wants to start a campaign to ban its use and so the herb to be added as a “drug of concern.”11
