Mobile data traffic has reached new hights

Mobile data traffic has continued to grow exponentially, even after the historic point reached in December 2009, when data traffic surpassed voice traffic for the first time, show traffic measurements made by Ericsson.
Currently, mobile broadband services represent about 10% of total mobile subscriptions, but generate most of the world traffic data. Traffic measurements made by Ericsson networks around the world show that mobile data traffic is nearly triple to last year, growing ten times faster than voice traffic. According to statistics Ericsson in the second quarter of mobile data traffic worldwide measured was about 225 000 TB per month.
“As mobile broadband technology development, and benefits that are undeniable,” said Hakan Eriksson, senior vice president and technical director of Ericsson. Business model for mobile broadband increasingly focus more on increasing customer profitability and on their differentiation through service quality. “Operators are focused on developing IP networks end-to-end, this guidance is important to meet the massive growth in traffic and to reduce costs and improve end user experience,” added Ericsson.
Ericsson has supplied most of the world that support HSPA network of Internet services with speeds of over 14.4 Mbps and is the only technology provider to participate in all projects to build networks 4G / LTE which currently run in the world.
Now, the number of mobile phone users reached 5 billion and Ericsson estimated a total of 50 billion devices connected to the end of this decade.
