More Storm To Come
As the hurricane Earl, which was then transformed in tropical storm, left the United States, it is high time for other storms to make their way here. Hermine, the tropical storm slammed into the northeastern of Mexico city near the Texas border on Monday and he hit this part of the country with heavy rains. They did not even get well after the Hurricane Alex visit from June, that this tropical storm has arrived.
It is the Atlantic Hurricane season and Hermine was on the list to visit us and as well being the eight storms on the list, it came after some storms have already passed through these places. Yes, it was expected to weaker as it came ashore, but this does not mean that it would no longer trigger deadly flooding and tornadoes.
At the moment there was no damage or anything registered and it did not cause any bad effect on the Gulf of Mexico natural gas and oil installations. May it be a tropical storm that will be lighter than what hurricane Earl intended to bring at first, but the Miami hurricane center warned the authorities that it could trigger some heavy rain on the coastal region and could bring some very disturbing flooding and they should be very well prepared for everything.
Hermine made its landfall at about 8:30 p.m. at 40 miles south the Texas city border. It had a maximum winds sustain of 65 mph. while the hurricane Alex in early July left behind him, 12 dead people, and an estimated damage of $700 million, people prepared for the Hermine tropical storm coming as it was supposed to bring 4 to 8 inches of rain over northeastern Mexico and South Texas.
In the city of Matamoros, the residents there prepared for the flooding and authorities remained on high alert. “Every time there is a hurricane or a storm, we have problems,” said Rene Polanco, 48, who works in a supermarket in Matamoros, across the border from Brownsville. “It’s because of poor drainage in the city.” The drainage system there has some problems and it is not as good formed as it should be.
Gaston, the tropical storm, is yet to come as from the Atlantic it continues to move westward and it was expected to transform in cyclone in 48 hours. Gaston is to travel west and to get close top another part such as Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Haiti.
More and more, the Americans prove to have learned a thing or two from each of the storms that they had to face up to.
