Despite the rumors foreseen at least Carvalho move at Real Madrid, coach Jose Mourinho claimed he won’t be needing former Porto player, nor Liverpool’s legend alive Steven Gerrard. The Portuguese coach said the English midfielder is too important for the Reds and it will be pretty hard for him target Gerrard’s move in Spain. Mourinho revealed in the same time he tried when arrived at Inter Milano to bring Chelsea second-captain Frank Lampard in Italy, but that intention also failed. “Gerrard is part of the history of Liverpool, he belongs to the club – he is too important to them,” he claimed.

“The same thing happened when I tried to take Frank Lampard to Internazionale. The problem exists when a club buys a player that is 30 and that cannot be sold later on.” As for Portugal’s defender Ricardo Carvalho who won the Champions League title with FC Porto in 2004 under the same Mourinho, Real Madrid coach added: “Ricardo is a good player, but he is of that age where if someone is looking to build a team for the future, he cannot think of him. Ricardo is a man for the current moment, he is a man with a great professional and private life so he has no problem playing at a high level at the age of 32.” Mourinho continued his good work at Real Madrid in the recent pre-season match, as the Spaniards downed LA Galaxy in a 3-2 win that made Real look better and better before La Liga starts.

Mourinho broke Carvalho heart after he said he won’t call for him to join Real, after the player sustained days ago he would do everything in order to play under the Portuguese again. “If it were possible to sign for Real Madrid, I will go there immediately, swimming or running in. It would be a dream to play for Madrid, which I regard as the best club in the world, and be under the command of the best coach in the history of football. Being able to win another Champions League with Real Madrid would be fantastic.” There is no time to think about the Real move as Carvalho must focus now on the Premier League and look forward to his sixth season with Chelsea.11
