NBA: Hornets Keep Chris Paul
Chris Paul revealed he won’t leave the New Orleans Hornets and he never intended to do it. The player made the statement right after the meeting he had with the club officials. Paul declared: “I have been a Hornet my entire career and I hope to represent the city of New Orleans and state of Louisiana for many years to come.” He discussed about his future with the new general manager Dell Demps, the team President Hugh Weber and coach Monty Williams. The player has claimed in the same statement he expressed the desire to stay at the club and win more trophies and the club direction he was presented made him be more sure about his choice to stay.
He said: “I expressed my desire to win and I like what they said about the direction that they want to take the team. My first choice is to be in New Orleans. I just want to make sure we’re committed to winning. If we’re not committed to winning and trying to get better so we can contend with the LA Lakers, the Celtics and all these other top teams, then I’m open to being traded.” Paul was accompanied at the meeting he had with the New Orleans officials by his agent, who also represents LeBron James, Leon Rose. They say Chris Paul got mad once his close friends James and Chris Bosh joined Dwayne Wade in Miami, at Heat.

Asked about what team he would choose if traded, Paul named the Los Angeles Lakers, the Knicks, Orlando, Dallas and Portland. He also remained quiet on the move issue and didn’t force any trade, otherwise he could be fined by the NBA. His team Hornets finished 37-45 last season as they missed the playoffs, while Chris Paul, 25, played only 45 games due to a knee injury.
