NBA: Shaq Joined Celtics

Former Cleveland Cavaliers and four-time NBA champion Shaquille O’Neal signed these days Boston Celtics after he was a free agent for the Cavaliers where he played the previous NBA season. Boston’s president Danny Ainge declared one can barely add a player of O’Neal’s size and showed himself pretty happy with the champion move. This said: “It is not every day that you can add a player of Shaquille’s caliber to your team. His past experience speaks for itself and we believe that he is a great fit for our roster.” The 38-year-old player, who is about to end his basketball career, will try now to bring more experience for the new team.

The American player averaged 12 points during the last season in NBA and produced 6.7 rebounds for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Orlando Magic symbol won the first NBA title in 1992 to remain one of the most loved and popular basketball players in the US history, along with Chicago Bulls Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryan from Lakers. O’Neal declared his very honored to join the Celtics: “I am honored to be joining the Celtics. I have played against Paul, Ray, Kevin, Rajon, and Jermaine for many years and it will be great to be able to call them my teammates. I cannot wait to get to Boston to get started in pursuit of another championship.” Also Celtics coach Doc Rivers couldn’t mask his joy of bringing one of the US legends at the team.

He said: “I am very excited. Adding a player, like Shaq, is a major plus and it fills a void for our team. He’s a real nice piece of the puzzle and he will complement us in where we want to go this coming season.”
