New Suspects In The Hartley Case

Two more suspects have been identified in the case of the murder of David Hartley.

For those of you who do not remember, David Hartley was shot in the head while spending some time with his wife on a lake that straddles the United States and Mexico last September. As it was claimed, David and Tiffany were on personal watercraft on the lake at the point in which gunmen opened fire and David was deadly shot and the killing still remains unsolved, given that the people who did it have not been found yet.

According to CNN, Tiffany’s statements have never changed and that absolves her of anything. Still, people are somehow untrusting when it comes to David’s wife, given that she had refused a polygraph test, just to make sure she had nothing to do with the killing of her husband. But, according to Zapata County Sheriff Sigifredo Gonzalez, the woman’s story fits very well with the two new suspects. According to what Tiffany declared, she and her husband were returning from a trip to a local landmark on the Mexican side of the border when a boat approached. There where men with guns in the boat who started firing and they shot David in the head. Months after the attack, rumors had it that somehow the Hartley had been involved in the crime, but Gonzales said that he believes Tiffany’s version of the story, especially now that it seems that the two suspects’ stories corroborate with hers.

Although the information about the two new suspects is not new (authorities have known about it since last month), it is only now released to the public. “We’re just waiting for more information. We understand that they were there, they participated in the shooting. They were given the orders to go kill (Tiffany) also,” the sheriff said. Moreover, it seems that the authorities don’t want to release the names of the suspects yet, as they are part of a band of Mexican drug traffickers that go to Zapata County quite often, thus the police is waiting to capture them.

What’s a bit complicated is that the shooting took place in Mexico and Mexican authorities have not officially provided anything new in maters of leads, since their investigator on the case was found dead. The new revelations bring the number of suspects to four.

The entire case of the murder is weird and things keep happening, people start showing up. There was a huge controversy in the press related to it, mostly because some people thought that maybe Tiffany had something to do about the death of her husband. Anyways, authorities hope they will catch the murderers soon and pun an end to this horrible case.11
