Obama=Hitler?
An Iowa tea party group created a billboard that compares Barack Obama to Adolf Hitler and Vladimir Lenin .
The billboard has drawn sharp criticism even from some of the tea party activists that have catalogued it as offensive and money wasting. The billboard has been displayed in Mason City last week and it contained large photographs of Obama, Hitler and Lenin beneath the labels “Democrat Socialism,” “National Socialism,” and “Marxist Socialism” and the phrase, “Radical leaders prey on the fearful & naive”. Bob Johnson, the co-founder of the group says that the billboard was intended to draw attention to the socialism. However, the anti-socialist message was lost between the images of fascist and communist leaders. Some members of the tea party criticized the sign, saying that it is a waste of money and time and that it is not going to help their cause.
Shelby Blakely, one of the leaders of the Tea Party Patriots, expressed his outrage towards linking Obama to Hitler. He says that the comparison is deeply offensive to the Jews that survived and died in the Holocaust. The billboard is owned by Waitt Outdoor of Omaha and the company’s general manager said that they did not have a problem with the message. He declared that they believed in the freedom of opinion, ut that the billboard did not express their opinion.
