It seems that Russian born singer Oksana Grigorieva has made an important and at the same time shocking decision.
The star has dropped the charges against her former boyfriend, actor Mel Gibson. Now, the news came as a huge shock after the scandal that has been linked to this story right since its beginning. But, one thing is certain. Oksana has made her decision and she just wants to drop the domestic violence case. The singer has been accusing her former boyfriend of punching her in the face, while holding the couple’s young daughter, Lucia. The event took place in 2010.
Anyway, it looks like Oksana gave no official reason for her decision, but the singer may have reached a deal with Gibson, as it has several times been reported that the two have been in talks with this purpose. However, the 55 year old actor pleaded no contest to battery charges last month and managed to avoid jail, although he has been sentenced to community work, counseling and was placed on probation. Oksana Grigorieva and Mel Gibson also currently are involved in a legal battle for the custody of their only child, Lucia.
Well, the 41 year old singer has been very vocal with her accusations against Gibson until now, but maybe the former couple has finally managed to come to an agreement for the sake of their child. However, reports indicated that both the judge and Mel’s lawyer were shocked with Oksana’s decision, so it seems that no one really expected her to make this choice. And that is not all. The restraining order that Oksana obtained against Mel has been terminated and the star did not ask for it to be prolonged. The order banned Mel from making contact with Oksana. But, it seems that the star actually wants to be able to communicate directly with Mel and settle things with her former boyfriend, to be able to make peace with him for the sake of their 18 months old child.
But, even if Mel will reach an agreement with Oksana, the actor will still have to complete his sentence. After pleading no contest to the misdemeanor battery charges, Mel was placed on three year probation and the famous actor was also ordered to complete a year of anger-management counseling. However, no official statements have been made by the two parties involved in the case until now, as they must keep the privacy on the details of the talks, as it involves a custody battle.11
