Osama bin Laden Is Dead

U.S. forces report that they managed to kill Osama bin Laden on Sunday during a raid on his hideout in Pakistan, at his mansion near the capital Islamabad.

The announcement was made by president Barack Obama himself, who said that by this action 10 years of war against terrorism paid off, and the hunt for he who masterminded 9/11 can rest now.

Barack Obama called the demise of Osama bin Laden, in an address to the nation on television on Sunday night, “the most significant achievement to date in our nation’s effort to fight al-Qaeda.”

He added that the operation that led to his death was launched at his direct order, while congressional sources revealed that bin Laden was shot in the head.

The reaction was different in both sides: while many Americans praised the Lord that the monster that killed their fellow nationals was dead, Islamist sites said that even though Osama was dead their Jihad against the infidels would go on.

Many who use the Islamist forums on the internet to communicate between terrorist cells argued the news was not true until it was confirmed by al-Qaeda’s news outlet, al-Fajr.

There are pictures circulating on the internet presenting Osama dead, and while many think they are fake, there are Islamists who accept that the demise of Osama bin Laden is nothing but a stage of the war, and that another leader would step up and take his place.

People gathered in New York at Ground Zero where the Twin Tower stood, and in front of the White House in Washington, DC, expressing their joy at the news that the # 1 terrorist of the world is no more.11
