Paper Works of Art
Maybe every person has done something in their childhood out of paper, usually using scissors and glue for their work to take shape. But none of the ‘works’ you have done then were anything like the origami shapes you have done later in your life or the quilling models you have just tried. And I am sure that you are surprised to see how other people work with paper in order to create great works of art and to bring the art of folding and working with this material to new, high levels. have worked with paper and I am always trying to ind new techniques of working with such materials and in my searches I find so many models that are simply amazing. For this reason I have begun writing this article. I consider that paper deserves to have a place in the field of art.
When seeing this models here I was amazed at what people can make out of paper. I knew that they are possible to be created, but their beauty is astonishing. Some of the models presented there are Origami models. Origami is the Japanese art of folding just one piece of paper, usually a square one, in very rare occasions rectangular, into different shapes. There are some basic shapes from which a model begins and then the folds and valleys created will shape a plant, a animal or a figure, sometimes a human face. From the simplest to the more complex, the Origami art is use in educational purposes as well. It develops the memory of the person who tries to learn and use the Origami techniques, as this art requires that you should not use anything but your memory when you are creating a model. It’s true that there are now tutorials and diagrams hat teaches you how to make an Origami work, but you can watch them just once or twice, as then you need to remember the steps, for your work to be done fluidly and to give that strong impression that the artist knew what they were doing. Centuries old, the Japanese art of folding paper has been developed as to create unique models that resemble reality almost 100 percent.
Other works made of paper go into the category of quilling. Quilling is an old art that has been recently revived. Its origins come from the ages when women had to sit nicely at home and kill time with any form of art they could think of. Using strips of paper and sometimes a little and simple tool, quilling implies that paper should be rolled either between your fingers or on the tool and then given shape by pressing and squeezing. When more shapes are joined together and glued to each other the model that arises is as creative as your imagination is wide. The quilling models you design can then be glued on cards or, as I have seen, used to adorn cups, plates, frames and any other object in your house you wish to embellish.
However, the art of folding and cutting paper is sometimes brought to extreme. The dual design of these models is just splendid and the works created transmit messages from the artist, which is the main purpose of a work of art. What you see created atop is contrasted by what you see created at the bottom. Because the two so different models are linked to each other the ideas and the emotions that pop-up in you at seeing them are simply contradictory and make you become very realistic. The idea that good and evil, life and death, beauty and ugliness cannot but coexist is rendered by every of the models of this type.

But when paper is used to create architectural design or people that almost look real, this is true art. And for this I will let the paper craft speak for themselves.

However, after seeing all these I am sure that every person will think twice before throwing a piece of paper and might try to make a model of the same kind until they succeed producing a good paper replica of a favorite animal, plant or person. Just try. After all, art begin with trying.
