There are some guys that claim they read Playboy for the articles. This is why Playboy Enterprises launched a website that is safe, so the men reading playboy online will not have to throw themselves over their computer screen when someone enters their office.

The site will be called TheSmokingJacket.com and will not contain the nudity that makes Playboy.com unsuitable for browsing while at work. Instead of the common nudity it will rely on humor to attract the target audiences, which are men 25 to 34 years old. A study conducted by the company revealed that most of the audience logs on after work, so they were missing the opportunity to reach men when they are online the most while sitting at their desk, when they are not working. The site is named after the Playboy founder Hugh Hefner’s favorite clothing item and will not include long interviews and articles, but is meant to be not serious.

Among the content of the site visitors will see a list of signs that describe a man who has given up trying to attract women. The site will search into the Playboy archives and show old photographs like the ones from the 1983 Playmate Playoffs, when women wearing huge bathing suit competed in old games such as a tug-of-war. There will be links to funny moments from television shows and other funny things that people e-mail to their friends. This site will be ideal to those who are bored at work, and the visitors will be able to send funny jokes and crazy videos. Theresa Hennessey, the Playboy spokeswoman, says that TheSmokingJacket.com will receive about 1 million visitors a month.
