Puyol powers Spain into the final
It’s the first time Spain reaches the World Cup final. Although they starter as number three favorites of the tournament, the Spanish team made one of the most efficient roads in superior phases of all teams in South Africa. It was Puyol who made history for Spain and sent del Bosque’s team into one of the most wonderful dreams. The match looked very tough and tight with both teams doing their best tactic playing, except probably Spain whom players had a much more freedom on the pitch.Although it was Germany who showed plenty of determination, especially in the first half, Spain did what they do the best, producing a 57% possession overall and a 88% passing efficiency, while Joachim Low’s side sent only two shots on target and six corners. The opening came in the late 73rd minute when Barcelona’s defender transformed Xavi’s corner into a headed goal and Spanish dream into reality.

Vicente del Bosque’s side will meet the Netherlands into the final on the 11th of July, both teams longing for this trophy because none of them held it ever. Better said, we’ll be about to see which one of the two teams will make their dream look more real.11
