Kindle eager to rejoin Ravens

NFL Baltimore Ravens have agreed signing rookie outside linebacker Sergio Kindle, who won’t play this season though due to injury. Thus, he will be placed on the Reserve list and will miss al the 2010 season. Kindle signed an one-year deal with the Ravens as he is expected to come in front of the media on Friday for more details regarding his deal and arrival. The linebacker suffers from skull fracture that sidelines him for longer. He was also discovered to struggle with his reactions and balance that might put him into danger. Kindle missed in this way all the games since he got his head injured this summer.

Neither the player, nor the Ravens officials offered details about the new deal, but these will be presented tomorrow when the linebacker will have the news conference. The announcement was made by team’s general manager Ozzie Newsome on Thursday. Although none offered any detail yet, reports say that Kindle might be set to sign a 320,000 dollar salary, but only 282,000 would be received due to the two weeks he will miss because of the injury. The University of Texas player underwent treatment in Dallas, his native town, but he was also hospitalized at Baltimore’s Sinai for neurological evaluation. Thus, the medical results might not allow him to play for Ravens this year, so the team will have to wait a while until this will be fully recovered and ready to enter the field. Ravens’ head coach John Harbaugh came out and declared that for the moment he isn’t thinking about the linebacker and he will continue to use almost the team he used until now. He also looked aware of Kindle’s serious injury to claim that he cannot know how long this head injury might take until healed.

“There’s no way to predict these things. You don’t know how a brain heals. It’s different in everybody and there’s just no way to predict it. So, you just have to see where it goes,” the coach said, while Kindle also declared that he is eager to rejoin the team. “I know I’ll play football again, I don’t know when, but I’m going to make it back. Things will get better. I’m staying positive, always,” the linebacker said. However, the 250-pounder started 25 of 46 games (6-3) and finished his Texas adventure with 43 stops for loss, 176 tackles and 16 sacks.
