Science Fiction Movie Monsters

- Run
The science fiction movies are a very popular genre, and one of the best things about these movies is that they feature various monsters. It seems that the audience can’t get enough of them, and as a result the movie producers keep on making them. This list will present you the strangest moments involving science fiction movie monsters.
There is a scene in the movie Cloverfield, where the heroes run away from the monsters, which at that moment has not been shown. They are in a subway tunnel and the monster manages to claw a woman. That particular woman is taken by the military personnel behind a curtain. Suddenly she starts having these convulsions, and then she explodes. The explosion is never shown, and more important, it is not explained why the woman exploded in the first place.
In the movie Village of the Giants, a group of teenagers drink a certain substance which was created by a wiz kid and as a result they become huge. The movie never explains what the substance is, and why did they become giants because of it. It makes all of them really stupid for drinking an unknown substance and for suffering the consequences because of it. So next time a friends of yours offers a you an unknown substance, drink it, because you might become Superman. Or not.
In the movie Deep Blue Sea , the scientists enlarge the brains of the great white sharks, in order to be able to do some researches on them. It does no make sense. Why does the brain need to be bigger in order to be able to analyze it? I am certain that they would have only required a small portion of it anyway. Well, because the brains get bigger, they get bigger as well, and they get smarter, stronger, faster, and so on. They turn a killing machine into a killing machine on steroids. It all makes sense doesn’t it? At least we get to see Samuel L. Jackson eaten by one of the sharks.
In the 1970s movie Day of the Animals, a hole in the ozone layer causes all the animals of the world to start acting crazy. The snakes, the rats, the bears, all of them start acting strange and go into a killing spree. That does not make too much sense, but we should not worry too much that the animals might start acting like that because of the ozone layer.
The movie Frankenstein Conquers the World proves that Japan is obsessed with very huge monsters. This movie tells the story of a young man who received Frankenstein’s heart through a transplant. He starts to become a monster as well, hair growing all over his body, and become dozens of feet tall. He starts fighting monsters, similar to the Godzilla movies. The movie tries to explain the reason for the strange transformation, mentioning something about radiation, but that does not make too much sense either.
In the movie The Giant Claw, a giant eagle is flying over the city, spreading panic. The interesting thing is that it can not be shot down. It seems that the reason for its invincibility is the fact that the buzzard is coated in some sort of radioactive protection which keeps him on the sky even though people are shooting at it. It seems that the radiation makes the bullets and the missiles bounce off of it. Who knew Astro-Physics could be so much fun? If only things would work like that in real life.
The movie Night of the Lepus is a very interesting movie, especially for the message it sends. Well in this movie, a scientist wants to stop the rabbits from reproducing at such a higher rate, and in order to do so he tweaks with their mating habits. In other word, it makes them gay. One of them begins to grow larger and larger, and it seemed that the reason for their growth in size is because of the changed sexual orientation. Soon, the area is full of giant gay rabbits, which massacre everything around them. Now that’s what I call an interesting movie.
The movie Attack of the Crab Monsters presents the killing spree of some angry crabs. They systematically begin to kill soldiers one by one, but it seems that they are way cooler than the ordinary crabs. It seems that they can absorb the powers of the ones they consume, and their properties as well. As soon as they kill a man, they have his memory. They start to talk, and they begin to lure people in traps. Watch the movie, if you haven’t, as you will have a great laugh because of how bad it is.
In the movie Empire of the Ants, a large number of people escape from an island, of course, it had to be an island, and go to a big city. Soon they discover that the people are acting very strange, and they realize that the reason for the weird behavior is the fact that a giant queen ant is controlling their movement. It uses pheromones in order to control them and to make them her slaves. Hey, that’s what ants do, especially the very large ones. Not really, as the main purpose of the pheromones is for communication, not for mind control.
The movie monster that takes the first spot is another shark; more precisely it is the shark from the movie Jaws: The Revenge. This movie was awful, and the plot was the main reason for this. In the movie, the shark hunts down the members the Brody family. The shark travels across the globe in order to kill the members of that family. Why? For revenge, that’s why. How can a shark follow a person? How does it know where those people are going? It seemed that the shark had a psychic connection to Ms. Brody. Well, everything makes sense now. Of course, a mind reading shark.
There you go, these were the strangest moments. Which one is your favorite?
